Q How do Sergeant's Nature's Guardian products work?
A The active ingredients in Sergeant's Nature's Guardian products block the neurotransmitter octopamine, killing insects almost instantly. Since octopamine is found only in insects, Sergeant's Nature's Guardian products are safe to use around pets and people when used as directed.
Q Is Sergeant's Nature's Guardian effective?
A YES, Sergeant's Nature's Guardian contains natural active ingredients that kill fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes on contact. In addition, the natural ingredients are highly effective in repelling pests.
Q How long do Sergeant's Nature's Guardian Squeeze-On's work?
A Studies show the Sergeant's Nature's Guardian Squeeze-On’s work for up to four weeks. However, if the area is highly infested, Sergeant's Nature's Guardian will need to be applied more often and it is safe to do so when used as directed.
Q If I use Sergeant's Nature's Guardian on my animal, should I use another flea and tick product as well?
A NO, we do not recommend using multiple types of flea and tick treatments.
Q If the Nature’s Guardian is a natural product, how come there is a warning on the label?
A Nature’s Guardian is a natural product.  However, some animals and people can still have allergies to some of these ingredients.  Also, the ingredients for Nature’s Guardian are oils.  If oils get in eyes they can cause some irritation.  If this occurs, simply rinse the eyes with water to remove the product.  If your eye continues to be irritated, please consult your doctor.
Q I applied the Nature’s Guardian products to my pet and after one week I still have fleas.  How come?
A
The Nature’s Guardian products contain natural ingredients that kill adult fleas.  As the fleas hatch from eggs and develop from larvae, they come in contact with the product and die.  If there is an usually high amount of hatching fleas, the product may need to be reapplied.  The Nature’s Guardian products can be used as often as necessary.

At what age can I apply the Nature’s Guardian products?
A The Nature’s Guardian products can be used as early as 12 weeks of age.
Q Can I use Nature’s Guardian products on my rabbits or ferrets?
A No, we do not recommend using the Nature’s Guardian products on any other animals except dogs and cats.  Although the products are all natural ingredients, the products have not been fully tested on other animals to determine the effectiveness of the products.
Q Can my family play with our pets after the Nature’s Guardian products have been applied or used?
A Yes, the Nature’s Guardian products are all natural ingredients and are safe around people and other pets.  However, the ingredients are oils and your pets coats may be oily until the product dries.  We do suggest washing your hands after playing with your pet for normal hygiene practices.
Q Can I use the Nature’s Guardian products on pets younger than 12 weeks of age?
A No, we do not recommend using the Nature’s Guardian products on pets under the age of 12 weeks.  Even though the ingredients are all natural, the EPA does not allow testing on animals under the age of 12 weeks.
Q If I use Nature’s Guardian Squeeze-Ons, can I use Nature’s Guardian Flea and Tick Spray or Powder also?

Yes, the Nature’s Guardian Products are safe to use together.

Can I bathe my pet after applying the squeeze-On?
A
Yes, but we suggest a non- detergent or low detergent shampoo or soap such as a puppy shampoo or Sergeant’s Gentle Guard.  If you end up shampooing your pet with their grooming shampoo you can reapply the squeeze-on safely at anytime.
Q When will Sergeant's Nature's Guardian begin to work?
A Sergeant's Nature's Guardian begins to work immediately after it is applied.
Q How often can I apply Sergeant's Nature's Guardian Squeeze-On's?
A Sergeant's Nature's Guardian Squeeze-On's should be applied monthly, but if your pet is in a highly infested environment repeat application should be made if necessary.
Q How much product should I apply on my cat or dog?
A Refer to label directions for correct dosage information. When applying this or any other animal or health care product, make sure to read the label carefully.
Q Do Sergeant's Nature's Guardian products have a scent?
A Yes, Sergeant's Nature's Guardian products have a spice fragrance, derived from the natural active ingredients.

My pet is outside in the rain or loves the jump in the pond.  Will the product wash away?
A
We suggest having the pet out of rain or water for 24-48 hours to insure that the product has dried.  After that time your pet can get wet with out washing away the product.  Remember that you can re-apply the products at anytime safely.

My pet grooms himself.  What happens if my pet ingests some of this product?
A
Nothing.  The active ingredients in the Nature’s Guardian products are all natural ingredients and are safe of ingestion.  However, your pet may have a bad taste in his/her mouth.  Simply give your pet a treat or something to drink to help with the bad taste.

I accidentally applied the dog squeeze-on to my cat.  What are the signs of a reaction and what should I do if the cat has a reaction?
A
The Nature’s Guardian products are the same for dogs and cats so you should not see any reaction.  However, due to the large amount of liquid in the dog squeeze-on tubes compared to the cat squeeze-ons, your cat may appear extra oily.

Is it safe for use around children, pets and pregnant women?
A
Because octopamine is not found in humans or other mammals, birds and fish, the natural active ingredients in Nature’s Guardian do not pose a danger to your family or your pets when the product is used as directed.

Because your squeeze-on will kill and repel mosquitoes, can I stop giving my dog his heartworm medication?
A
Even though heartworm is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito, we would not recommend discontinuing use of heartworm medication unless instructed to do so by your veterinarian.
Q
The product made my pet’s hair greasy at the application site.  Should it do this?
A
Once the product has dried on your pet’s skin, the application site should not appear greasy.  However, if some of the product did get caught in the pet’s hair, it could cause a greasy appearance.

I have a cat that plays closely with and /or grooms my dog.  Will this product be ok to use?
A
Yes. The Nature’s Guardian products are all natural ingredients and are safe for cats and other pets.
